Agency/Location: The position is grant funded through the MU School of Natural Resources, Columbia, Missouri. Position is renewable annually for at least three years.

Job Description: The selected candidate will work with University of Missouri graduate students and the Missouri Department of Conservation biologists. The primary duties include sampling Lake Sturgeon to determine reproduction in Missouri River tributaries. The candidate will be required to use an assortment of fisheries sampling techniques and equipment including: gill nets, trot lines, larval drift nets, benthic trawls, boats with outboard and jet motors, GPS equipment and other laboratory analytical equipment.  The position will also conduct laboratory tasks including enumeration and identification of larval fishes, maintain the accuracy and availability of information in databases, provide field and technical support to researchers, students, managers, and perform general maintenance on boats and equipment.

Salary: $13.67-18.77/hour
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or as needed

Preferred Qualifications: BS degree in Fisheries & Wildlife/Natural Resources or similar field; experience working outdoors and independently, operating boats, various nets used in fisheries, Department of Interior Motorboat Operators Certification.
