Trout Unlimited (TU) is seeking an Aquatic Resources Seasonal Technician to help fulfill the organizations' mission to bring together diverse interests to care for and recover rivers and streams, so our children can experience the joy of wild and native trout and salmon.

The Aquatic Resource Seasonal Technicians will assist TU staff with projects aimed to restore aquatic connectivity and in-stream habitat and promote the long-term values associated with aquatic restoration in Northern Wisconsin. Primary duties will include completing road-stream crossing inventories using the Great Lakes Road Stream Crossing Inventory method to identify aquatic organism passage barriers, conducting stream geomorphic surveys, and completing electrofishing surveys to monitor trout populations. Other responsibilities will include helping partners carry-out habitat improvement projects and complete biological assessments, assisting TU staff with temperature monitoring projects and other scientific studies, and completing as-built surveys at past project sites. The position will require frequent overnight travel to remote locations in northern Wisconsin (camping in and around the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest) and will work four days a week, not to exceed 40 hours per week. The anticipated employment date range is May through August 2023. TU’s base of operations for this position is Green Bay, WI but the position will be focused on field work in Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, Florence, Forest, Marinette, and Oconto counites. The position is paid at a rate of $15 per hour, and travel away from the team’s home base will be provided by or reimbursed by TU. It will be necessary for the chosen applicant to relocate to the team’s home base or be within driving distance to the counties listed previously where field work will be focused.
