Dear colleagues,
My second book “Explaining Management Phenomena: A Philosophical Treatise” was published by Cambridge University Press last month. The cover of the book is attached
here.
One key task of social science researchers in general, and management researchers in particular, is to explain phenomena. Yet, explanation is essentially a topic in philosophy, which often lies beyond the
domain of these researchers. This is the first book that bridges the gap between a technical, philosophical treatment of the topic and the more practical needs of management as well as other social science scholars. The book is pitched at a level of philosophical
analysis that is higher than that of most academic texts in the management discipline, but is much less technical than the treatment of the same subject by mainstream philosophy books. It renders sophisticated philosophical arguments understandable by readers
without specialized training in philosophy. The book’s content covers virtually all the major aspects about the nature of explanation, and thus meets
the needs of a variety of research tasks, whether empirical, theoretical or both.
If you are interested in the book and have any questions about it, please feel free to contact me.
