NOW HIRING: Michigan Department of Natural Resources Seasonal Fisheries Position



One State Worker position is being filled at Wolf Lake State Fish Hatchery.  The position, limited to 1040 hours, is expected to start April 3, and finish approximately September 29, however exact dates are subject to change.  Work hours will be 40 hours per week, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.   Weekend work will be required for the months of July and August.  Duties include loading fish transport units and marking trailers, general fish culture activities, and general facility upkeep.  The job requires extended periods of standing, moderate lilting, and contact with cold water. Starting pay is $15.00/hour.  Drug testing and background checks are required. Position Duties:
·         Assist with loading fish transport units
·         Assist with loading fish in to marking trailer
·         Assist with hand clipping/tagging of fish
·         Assist with general fish culture tasks
·         Complete other duties as assigned
·         Grounds and facility upkeep

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
·         Must work in wet, cold conditions and have hands in cold water for extended periods
·         Must be able to tolerate extended periods of standing
·         Must be able to communicate effectively and perform duties in a dependable manner
