Dear Colleagues:

The Center for Emerging Markets at Northeastern University is excited to share with you the 2nd issue of its Insights @ Center for Emerging Markets, a twice-yearly publication focused on cutting edge ideas and advice for global leaders about emerging markets. Insights @ Center for Emerging Markets draws on the innovative research on emerging markets of Northeastern University’s faculty.

The current issue covers a variety of topics, ranging from innovation in Chinese companies, to the performance implications of ESG initiatives for emerging markets companies, the diffusion of blockchains, the role of emerging markets vis-à-vis the global trading system, entrepreneurship, creditors rights, corruption, and the concept of “Wasta” in the Arab world. Each brief provides practical insights into these topics. They can also be used as introductory reading materials for courses focusing on emerging markets, globalization, and international business more generally.
