Live Advantage Bait LLC (LAB) is a warmwater marine fish hatchery for baitfish and foodfish and a grow-out facility for multiple species of baitfish in our RAS facility. We also have a strong commitment to science, our community, and the ecosystem.

We are seeking a full-time PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN for our hatchery and grow-out facility. The position will take place at our expanding facility in Fort Pierce, FL. with interviews to take place the week of Dec 19th 2022 and intended start date the first week of Jan 2023

Pay: $16- 18 per hour (~$33,280- $37,440 per year)

What you’ll do:

•  Work in production from live feeds, to larval fish care, to grow out and broodstock. While each team member has a core responsibility, we cross train all staff across the farm.

•  Daily checks, cleaning and system maintenance

•  Data recording including assisting on research projects we may be conducting on site.

•  Grading, Packing, and moving fish.

What we’re looking for:

•  The ideal candidate will have a degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries, or related field, but this is not a requirement if you can prove your passion for the field and science.

•  Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, production environment

•  Ability to work professionally and responsibly

•  Ability to be trained, follow complex instructions, and work independently.

•  Multitasking and attention to detail is a must

•  Ability to standing all day on your feet

•  Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Work hours: After a training period, technicians work 5 days a week, mostly 9am to 5pm, and are expected to work weekends and holidays on rotation.

Experience:

•  Prefer at least one year in fish husbandry, algae culture, or live feeds.

License/Certification:

•  Drivers License

•  US Work authorization or citizenship
