   [The new faculty member will be a part of Cal Poly Pomona’s Faculty Cluster Hire – Ethnic Studies Affinity Group to advance Ethnic Studies and an Inclusive Curriculum from different disciplinary and methodological vantage points and will also be a core member of the Department of Plant Science in the Huntley College of Agriculture. Fields of expertise may include interdisciplinary training relevant to environmental justice, food justice, sustainable agriculture, and/or traditional ecological knowledge.]

   [The new faculty member will specialize in soil science teaching and research efforts, especially related to urban biogeochemistry. Candidates with expertise in one of the following areas are especially encouraged to apply: urban soil carbon storage, nutrient recycling and losses in urban ecosystems, urban soil contaminants (bioavailability and transfer) and remediation, managing urban soils for food production, soils and waste management in urban areas, and/or enhancing awareness about the importance of urban soils. The new faculty member will help lead the Huntley College of Agriculture’s Urban and Community Agriculture teaching, research, and community-engagement initiatives.
