Bringing the Farm to School: A Training for Agricultural Producers to Sell to School Markets

 

Are you a farmer interested in learning more about selling to school markets? Then this training is for you!

 

This day-long education opportunity on Thursday, December 8th is designed to provide agricultural producers with training and tools to build their capacity to launch or grow efforts to market to schools. Using a national training with interactive sessions, the team of experienced trainers will also share insights from many years of farm to school work in Michigan.

 

This training is part of theGreat Lakes Fruit, Vegetable, and Farm Market Expo (GLEXPO). It is open to any agricultural producers based in the Great Lakes Region, and it will include discussion of some examples, stories, and opportunities from Michigan.

 

WHEN: Thursday, December 8th from 8 am – 5 pm

 

WHERE: Great Lakes Fruit Vegetable and Farm Market Expo, DeVos Place, Grand Rapids

 

REGISTRATION FEE:$65 for single-day (Thursday) registration for this training, or $115 to attend all three days of GLEXPO from December 6 – 8. On-site registration is available.

 

 

Thanks to our partners at GLEXPO for hosting this training opportunity! This training is coordinated by theMichigan Farm to Institution Network, led by theMSU Center for Regional Food Systems with support fromMSU Extension. Training partners include staff members from theMichigan Department of Education and the Michigan Department of Agricultural and Rural Development.
