Presentation I. “Bring International Business to Life with Experiential Learning Projects”
Eileen Daspro: University of San Diego, USA

Eileen Daspro is the Faculty Director of International Business at the Knauss School of Business (KSB) at The University of San Diego. There she teaches Introduction to International Business, International Consulting  and Global Social Entrepreneurship. She has over twenty years of international work experience as a professor, consultant and administrator in the Americas region. She is a NASBITE Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) and Trainer. She has developed and delivered international business consulting projects with companies in the U.S. and abroad. At Tec de Monterrey, she led the international business team honored with the Premio Nacional de Exportación (Mexico’s National Export Prize) in 2012 and was honored in 2022 as  KSB Faculty of the Year.

Presentation II. The Pacific Alliance COIL Project: a case of internationalization at home
Karla Maria Nava-Aguire: Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM), Mexico

Karla Maria Nava-Aguirre holds a PhD in Administrative Sciences, Global MBA for Latin American Managers (Thunderbird & Tec de Monterrey) and Bachelor Degree in Global Studies from Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM). Dr. Nava is full professor and researcher of international business at UDEM Business School and Director of the Global Business Program. Karla is AIB LAC Mexico Country Director 2021-2024 and chair at the Teaching and Education in International Business track. She participates in international projects, conferences, publishes articles and book chapters. She was awarded as the best project of internationalization of higher education at UDEM recently. Dr. Nava is visiting scholar at Rice University (Puentes Consortium), Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru (PUCP), and Universidad de Guadalajara. She is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) from CONACYT in Mexico.

Presentation III. “Co-Operative Education – Lessons from a UG Capstone Course”
Swati Nagar: Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand

Swati Nagar is a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head of Department at the Department of International Business, Strategy & Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, Auckland University of Technology (AUT), Auckland, New Zealand. Her current research interests include the Role of Gender in Modern Slavery, Migrant Worker Exploitation and Challenges of Geographic Labour Mobility. She has published in several outlets, including AIB Insights, Cambridge University Press, Sage Publications, Palgrave and the Journal of International Business Education.

Presentation IV. “Virtual Study Abroad and COIL”
Erica Kovacs: Indiana University – Kelley School of Business, USA

Erica Kovacs is a Clinical Professor of International Business in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. She has been teaching in the university level since 2002, finished her PhD in 2009 at UFPE, in Brazil, and was a visiting scholar at Georgia State University in 2015.  Prior to teaching, she has worked in multinational firms, such as Philips and Rayovac, and has accumulated more than 10.000 hours of consulting in international business. She teaches in the undergraduate, MBA and Kelley Direct programs, including short term study abroad courses to the Netherlands and Brazil.

Daria Panina: Texas A&M University, USA

Dr. Daria Panina received her Ph.D. in International HR from School of Management and Labor Relations, Rutgers University in 2002. She joined the Management Department of Mays Business School in 2003. She teaches international business and management courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and leads several Mays Business Study Abroad programs. Dr. Panina does research in the areas of global mindset, global competencies, and international business teaching and learning. She is a member of the Academy of International Business (AIB) and chairs AIB Teaching and Education shared interest group.
