SAFS students interested in international service are often welcome candidates for Peace Corps, as they are often seeking service members with some agricultural background. If you are interested, starting this process early is a great idea, as the preparation and paperwork can be extensive. You can find out more at the information sessions coming up!

*****
We have a “double-header” information session coming up on Peace Corps programs here at MSU. Please encourage interested students to join MSU's Peace Corps Prep Program Manager and current Peace Corps recruiter to learn about how Spartans can prepare for and serve in the Peace Corps during this International Education Week session.

Participants in the undergraduate Peace Corps Prep certificate program work throughout their studies to fulfil requirements in four competencies: sector-specific skills, foreign language proficiency, intercultural competence, and professional development.

As the PC Prep program serves as a pipeline to potential Peace Corps service, we work closely with MSU’s Peace Corps recruiting office. MSU has a long history of sending alumni out as volunteers, and we are fortunate to have recruiters right here on campus. In this session, our current recruiter will provide details on what Peace Corps Volunteers do, where they serve, what benefits are provided to Volunteers, how to apply, and more. This information is applicable for anyone interested in service, independent of participation in Peace Corps Prep.

Please pass this email to any of your advisees who may be interested in exploring Peace Corps opportunities. We look forward to working with you and our amazing MSU students and alumni!
