This position will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and managing water quality data in support of water protection activities conducted by the Watershed Council. The Watershed Council collects baseline water quality data on lakes and rivers and identifies impacts from nonpoint source pollution such as stormwater, septic tanks, road/stream crossings, and land use. Assessments for fish habitat, aquatic macroinvertebrates, and aquatic plants are also conducted. The Watershed Council administers three volunteer programs, consisting of more than 100 volunteers who monitor 50 lakes and rivers on a regular basis in addition to Great Lakes shorelines.
