Summary:

The College of Business at Florida Atlantic University seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty line at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor of International Business for employment starting Spring 2023.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach international business courses in both undergraduate and graduate programs, including the MBA and the Masters of International Business, and possibly the PhD program. He/she must maintain an active program of research and publication and will be expected to participate in appropriate service to the department, college, university, community, and profession. Emphasis will be placed on producing scholarly research in top-tier peer-reviewed international business and management journals.

General Information: Established in 1961, Florida Atlantic University is part of the state university system of Florida and is a Carnegie-classified “higher research activity” doctoral-granting institution. A public research university with more than 30,000 students, it features one of the most diverse student bodies in the nation. The position is based on the main campus in Boca Raton, Florida, a vibrant community in South Florida located about a mile from the Atlantic Ocean, with a strong business community that is actively engaged with the campus and students.

The FAU College of Business is one of the largest AACSB-accredited colleges of business in the United States with more than 8,500 students. The college offers degrees at both the undergraduate and graduate levels (including Ph.D.) as well as many online, executive, and certificate programs. The College of Business was named one of the “Best Business Schools” by The Princeton Review as well as one of America’s “Top 50 Business Schools for Entrepreneurs” and “Top 25 Online Business Programs” by U.S. News and World Report. Minimum Qualification:

Candidates are required to have earned a doctorate in International Business or a related field from an AACSB-accredited university by the effective date of employment.

Should be strongly committed to high quality scholarly research.

Should have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching at an AACSB-accredited university.

To be hired at the associate professor or professor rank, candidates should possess a publication record sufficient for promotion and tenure at a high-research activity university.

Candidates should also:

Have experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Demonstrate and support a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Demonstrate skill in understanding of cultural differences.

A demonstrated record of acceptances or publications in peer-reviewed academic journals.

Experience and interest in research and/or teaching in international business, global environment of business, international business operations, international entrepreneurship, managing in emerging markets and related areas.

Certification or experience teaching in fully online or hybrid delivery platforms.
