SPEAKERS

Tanya van Biesen is a leadership advisor with over 20 years of experience in the executive search sector, focused on assignments at the board, CEO and general management levels.  She was also an early contributor to the buildout of the diversity, equity and inclusion practice at another leading global search and advisory firm.

​Humberto Carolo is the Executive Director at White Ribbon. He is a gender-based violence prevention specialist with 20 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector with expertise in gender equality, human rights, HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ2+ advocacy, community development and multi-sectoral partnerships.

Shengwen Li is currently a PhD Candidate in the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. Shengwen’s emerging resesearch interests center on gender equality and female workers inclusion in formal empoyment in developing countries, such as African countries.

Erin Tansey has over 20 years of experience in international development and humanitarian sectors within Canadian and international NGOs, United Nations agencies, and bilateral development programs. She has worked on various applied research projects and was the coordinator of research for the International Organization for Migration’s Partnership on HIV and Mobility in Southern Africa.
