The Lucas College of Business at San Jose State University invites
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in
International Business beginning in Fall 2023. The School of Global
Innovation and Leadership <https://www.sjsu.edu/sgil/> prepares students to
become innovative leaders with a global perspective in three
concentrations: International Business, Entrepreneurship, and Operations
and Supply Chain Management. It provides students with cutting-edge
knowledge and opportunities for practice and skill development. The synergy
from our concentrations will assist faculty to reach out to the Silicon
Valley companies for their projects and research. Faculty also has
opportunities to connect students with the startups and global companies
through projects, honors program, and interns. By joining our school, you

Required Qualifications

All applicants are required to:

   - Possess a doctorate from an accredited university and be academically
   qualified under AACSB standards. Terminal degree must be awarded by date of
   appointment.
   - Demonstrate concrete evidence of research publications or strong
   potential for the research publications in the area related to the position.
   - Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals
   of a socially and economically diverse student population as might have
   been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching, and other
   comparable experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Besides the required qualifications, Priority will be given to candidates
who possess one or more of the following:

   - For those with teaching experience, demonstrate a commitment to
   teaching excellence.
   - Exhibit a commitment to interact effectively with the Silicon Valley
   business community.
   - Emphasize pragmatic teaching applications, ideally enhanced by
   industry experience.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses from foundation
through advanced in the International Business field and share in student
advising, advising the student club, curriculum development, and service
responsibilities including program assessment. Excellence in research and
teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level is expected.
Effectiveness in academic assignments, including service to students and
University, and a record of research and/or professional achievement which
are defined in the University Retention/Tenure/Promotion guidelines is
required to achieve tenure and promotion. The candidate will participate in
shared governance, usually in department, college, and university
committees and other service assignments. In addition, the candidate must
demonstrate awareness and experience understanding the needs of a student
population of great diversity – in age, abilities, cultural background,
ethnicity, religion, economic background, primary language, sexual
orientation, gender identity, and academic preparation – through inclusive
course materials, teaching strategies and advisement.

Conditional Offer

The work for this faculty position is located in the State of California.
Employment is contingent upon proof of eligibility to work in the United

(including a criminal records check) is required for employment. SJSU will
