Dear colleagues,

There is still time to sign up for an exciting extension to the main Strategic Management Society conference on September 16th. The theme is ‘Strategies for Creating Sustainable and Responsible Practices’ and the extension takes place in Birmingham, just over an hour away from central London. The event is open to non-members of SMS.

The purpose of this extension is to take stock of what we have learned about strategies companies use to create sustainable and responsible practices and to propose an agenda for what must follow next. On the program we have leading scholars who have done work in this area, including Jonathan Doh (Villanova), Olga Hawn (U of North Carolina), Steve Brammer (Bath), and Aiofe Brophy (Oxford). Then we have contributions from two thoughtful practitioners, Lee Mellor (vice president Europe, SC Johnson) and Jim Hagemann Snabe (Chairman of the Board, Siemens). Participants will also have an opportunity to further develop their own work in this area and to engage in plenary discussions.

In addition, participants will have an opportunity to discuss their work in a roundtable session with well-established scholars. If you would like to participate in a roundtable discussion, please register for the extension and submit an extended abstract or working paper to Veselina Stoyanova, email: [log in to unmask] no later than 5th September, 2022. The details of each roundtable will be circulated via email on 9th September, 2022. Both theoretical and empirical papers are welcome!
