SPEAKERS
Pervez Ghauri completed his PhD from Uppsala University, where he also taught for several years. At
present, he is Professor of International Business at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. His current research deals with sustainability, poverty reduction, and reducing inequalities. Pervez is fellow of the European International Business
Academy (EIBA) and the Academy of International Business (AIB), where he also served as Vice President. He has published more than 30 books and 150 articles in top-level journals.
Junghoon Park is a PhD candidate in Management at the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, the
City University of New York. He explores mechanisms through which firms respond differently to grand challenges that society faces – such as climate change and human health – and how they can better manage their social and environmental impacts. His research
has been published in the Journal of International Business Studies and Business
& Society.
Haden Choiniere has an MS in International Business from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro,
an M2 in History from the Université de Paris La Sorbonne, and a BA in History from the University of South Carolina Honors College. Her interest lies in sustainable development in governance and international business, with an appreciation for the complex
history that underpins the modern paradigm.
Sarah Ku has a PhD from Georgia State University. She will join Loyola University Chicago as a tenure-track
Assistant Professor of Sustainable Business Management in August 2022. Her research areas include sustainability, equity, circular strategies, and biomimicry in business. She has been involved with the AIB Sustainability Shared Interest Group since its inception
as a founding member of the “Circular Economy in an IB Context” thematic group, and became an Officer of its Working Committee in 2021.
Philipp Kern is a Lecturer in International Management at Loughborough University London. His research
is located at the intersection of firms and their institutional environment, with particular interest in the role of corporate actors in institutional change processes, norm-making within multinationals, and value creation and appropriation among stakeholders
of the firm. His research has been published in Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Human Resource Management Journal and other leading journals.
