Dear friends and colleagues,

We are delighted to announce the publication of the August 2022 issue (volume 31, issue 4) of International Business Review.

The lead paper is authored by the renowned econometrician, William Greene (together with two of the IBR editorial team), on the use of multinomial choice analysis in IB research. Multinomial choice analysis refers to situations where firms (or other decision-makers) are making choices between several possible alternatives, and how those choices may be modelled. The article provides a brief introduction to the underlying theory, practical guidance on how to estimate and interpret multinomial choice models, and examples from the literatures on entry mode and MNE location choice studies.

This is followed by four papers on how new digital technologies are impacting the international business activities of firms. In particular, we at IBR are proud to include a paper co-authored by our late and much missed colleague, Jorma Larimo: a fine scholar, a wonderful mentor to early career researchers, and a true gentleman.

There are then nine papers which consider various aspects of the relationship between corporate governance and international business: five on Boards and top management teams; and four on the goals and strategies of family-owned firms. Last but not least, the final paper focuses on small firms’ non-market strategies in emerging economies.

This is a fine collection of papers covering topics of considerable contemporary interest. We hope you enjoy reading them.

Best wishes

Roger Strange & Fang Lee Cooke (IBR Editors-in-Chief)
