Theme : Research on Interorganizational Relations: An example of the evolution of management research
Summary : Collaboration, coordination and cooperation are touted as solutions to address core issues in business, government and society.
The popularity of these terms both in practice and research has also contributed to unclear definitions, thus making it hard to know
what is meant by these terms and how they are understood by different parties. We draw on a systematic literature review to clarify
the distinction among collaboration, coordination and cooperation. Our analysis motivates a reflection about the role of conceptual clarity
for progress in management sciences as well as managerial practices.
