Jim –

Hope you are doing well. We have 2 positions open right now in our Northern District which we are having a hard time filling. Looking for someone with some trapping and field experience.

Not sure if you have anyone in mind or someone who might qualify. Give me a call (mobile) when you have a minute and we can discuss a little more.

Thanks,

Chip

Please distribute.

This position is located in northeast WI with millions of acres of public land, countless lakes, rivers, and trout streams. Hunting, trapping, and fishing opportunities are limitless. A half a million acre National Forest is nearby.

Antigo is a rural logging/farming community with relatively affordable living. In 2019 the population was 7,700 people. Antigo is the county seat for Langlade County.

Much of the work for this position occurs on County, State, and National Forest lands. Location is situated uniquely at the transition from the northern forest/forest farmland fringe offering diverse wildlife habitats.

Position is primarily focused on beaver (60%), black bear (20%) , and gray wolf (10%) conflict management. Incumbent would also be involved with crop damage appraisals (10%) from deer, bear, turkey and Canada geese.

As requested by Tribal and State Governments, position could assume some responsibilities for research trapping/collaring gray wolves for population monitoring.

Position also has a new 2021 Ford F150 4X4 assigned to it.

Call if you questions.

Thanks,
