  1.  Aquatic Invasive Species Pathways Program Coordinator. Permanent. Bachelor's degree required. Application deadline: March 11, 2022.
This is an outreach specialist-heavy position serving as the Benzie Conservation District (BCD)
Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator. The Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Coordinator is
responsible for implementing a coordinated regionwide strategy, relevant programs, and
effective partnerships for preventing the spread and monitoring/reporting of aquatic invasive
species findings. The AIS Coordinator will create/maintain an active network of partners who
participate in AIS detection, prevention and control. This individual is at the helm of the BCD’s
“Aquatic Invasive Species Pathways Program” (AISPP).

  1.  Aquatic Invasive Species Field Lead. Seasonal. HS diploma required, credits toward undergraduate degree preferred. Application deadline: March 11, 2022.
The AIS Field Lead will work closely with the AIS Coordinator and oversee the 3 seasonal AIS Technicians. The AIS Lead
activities will center on the Michigan Invasive Species Grant Program grant awarded to the BCD’s Aquatic Invasive Species
Pathways Program in 2019 – to increase the awareness and prevention of AIS in this region through varied field efforts
and educational events.

  1.  Aquatic Invasive Species Technicians (2). Seasonal. HS diploma required, credits towards undergraduate degree preferred. Application deadline: March 11, 2022.
  2.

     *   Technicians will work alongside an AIS Field Lead & AIS Coordinator. This position requires a genuine enthusiasm for our mission to preserve and enhance the natural resources of Benzie County. The Technician will assist the BCD staff in the (aquatic) field at a variety of locations across Benzie, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, and Manistee counties to complete objectives set for the Aquatic Invasive Species Pathways Program. Each Technician will support a range of activities – public outreach and educational events, aquatic invasive species surveys and boat decontamination, and related data entry and equipment care. Strong interpersonal skills, a willingness to work outdoors in a variety of conditions, confidence working on or around water, attention to detail and a background in the natural sciences are preferred.

  1.  Intern Technician. Seasonal. Application deadline: April 30, 2022.

     *   The position will provide an opportunity to learn about natural resource conservation, as well as become familiar with the various activities of the District and our mission to preserve and enhance the natural resources of Benzie County.
