Subject: FW: Summer 2022 - Paid Internships
Jim,

Please feel free to distribute to our undergraduates. This group works a lot with John Kocik, so MSU is a “known’ entity with them.

Maine Sea Grant is partnering with NOAA’s Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC) to provide opportunities for undergraduates to gain experience in the field of fisheries. We are currently recruiting interested students for participation in the Summer 2022 Undergraduate Internships in Diadromous Ecosystem Research Program.

Several Undergraduate Paid Internships are available (links below) through an ongoing collaboration between UMaine’s Sea Grant Program and NOAA’s Northeast Fisheries Science Center. These competitive positions will be 40 hours per week, based at one of several mentor locations in Maine including Orono/Old Town area and Maine Department of Marine Resources offices in Augusta, Milford, and Jonesboro. One opportunity in Woods Hole, Massachusetts with NOAA’s NEFSC is also being offered. Students will have an opportunity to be a part of the National Sea Grant Community Engaged Internship Program<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/seagrant.noaa.gov/Community-Engaged-Internship__;!!HXCxUKc!k3OwfRGUuvhv42nbo4fHPIglxFxcYggY4W56kKVgU9lyX2hZ6b0luhpM6nCUDVE$> which is designed for undergraduate students from all backgrounds, including underrepresented and indigenous communities. Start dates vary according to position, ranging from April to June and will last for up to 13 weeks. See Sea Grant's website<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/seagrant.umaine.edu/funding-opportunities/maine-sea-grant-noaa-fisheries-undergraduate-internships-in-sea-run-fish-research/__;!!HXCxUKc!k3OwfRGUuvhv42nbo4fHPIglxFxcYggY4W56kKVgU9lyX2hZ6b0luhpMwguZIqk$> for project details.
