POSITION SUMMARY:
The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University, Collegeville, MN USA invites applicants for an
open rank, tenure-track faculty position in the Global Business Leadership Department that will assume the position of Department Chair upon appointment.
The Department Chair also holds the Ralph Gross Chair in Business and the Liberal Arts. The Global Business Leadership Department consists of an internationally focused group of faculty that offers
a bachelor’s degree in business with concentrations in Marketing, Supply Chain, Social Innovation and General Business. The chair has responsibility for the overall administration of the department. Successful applicants will have an international focus and
demonstrated strengths in Teaching, Leadership, Diversity, and Scholarship. As the institutions’ largest and most diverse department, Global Business Leadership engages a holistic approach in preparing students for business careers in diverse organizations
and graduate education. The program enhances students’ critical thinking, communication skills, and understanding of Benedictine values. The department has a strong student record of job placements, internships, and study abroad experiences. Deeply embedded
in the liberal arts, the Global Business Leadership discipline enables students to become responsible citizens, ethical leaders, lifelong learners, and innovators.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Advocating for and securing resources for the department Planning and executing a strategic direction for the department Building and staffing the schedule
of classes Overseeing the department budget and other resources Teaching one course per semester and advising students Fostering team building, managing the department and its staff, and Working with diverse faculty and students in the department and across
campus to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
MBA or an equivalent Master’s/graduate degree in business or related field Successful Academic, Business or Organizational Leadership Experience Evidence of teaching effectiveness
in a full-time undergraduate teaching position Evidence of scholarship and an active scholarly agenda Strong international focus through international collaborations, teaching, research, organizations, and/or study abroad.) Demonstrated commitment to diversity,
inclusion, equity, and justice practices Commitment to fostering connections with local and global communities as well as members of underrepresented, diverse, and marginalized populations.
Preferred
D.B.A or Ph.D. in business, organizational leadership, analytics, social sciences, higher education, or related field. Faculty development and mentoring experience, including mentoring
pre-tenured faculty to tenure Demonstrated ability to lead, organize, develop, establish rapport, and work collaboratively with university and college administration, faculty, staff, and students in a team environment Demonstrated skills in conflict-resolution
and problem solving
