In addition, the position will connect with and support regional and place-based Extension climate programming. The Climate Outreach Specialist will substantially enhance Extension's capacity to collaborate with statewide and regional stakeholders on climate change initiatives and will expand dissemination and accessibility of existing as well as newly-developed climate data and innovative decision tools to advance the resilience of our communities to extreme weather and anticipated climate change impacts. The outreach specialist will also provide direct planning, delivery and evaluation of programs and technical assistance for communities and partners addressing climate change. Project partners could include local, state, regional, tribal, and federal agencies; researchers; and community and business organizations. In addition, the position will assist with statewide and regional training of Extension professionals across multiple disciplines to increase their understanding of climate resiliency, its applicability to Extension programming, and strategies for incorporating climate resiliency into programming.
