The Department of Science Education at California State University, Chico is a small, vibrant, multidisciplinary science education department in the College of Natural Sciences, offering a BS in Natural Sciences with the option of Science Education. The tenure-track Assistant Professor position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching environmental science or geological science to future elementary school teachers and middle and high school science teachers, scholarship including research publications, conference presentations and research grants, and service through student advising, department, college and university committee assignments and community outreach. The position focuses on science courses for K-12 pre-service teacher, previous experience related to K-12 education, professional development for in-service teacher, or experience in teaching science content to pre-service teachers should be noted in the application.
