Greetings,

I'm currently recruiting a postdoc to lead and coordinate a new collaborative school garden research network across the Southeast, based in Athens, GA. The postdoc will lead communication and coordination with numerous collaborators (teachers, extension educators, students and faculty), and will perform research on how biodiversity aboveground and belowground interactively shape insect food webs over urbanization gradients using a network of experiments at over 50 school garden sites. The postdoc will also assist in mentoring numerous undergraduate researchers managing small-scale experiments remotely across a wide geographic region. This will require some extended and overnight travel among sites. Finally, the postdoc will be key in coordinating development and publication of curricular materials on sustainable agriculture and insect food webs appropriate for a broad range of grade levels for use by collaborating teachers.

Ideal candidates will have experience managing logistics for large-scale collaborative research projects, enthusiasm for education and outreach, as well as experience with landscape ecology, plant diversity, conservation biological control and plant/microbe interactions, with a solid record of publication.

Annual salary will be $50k, with potential for longer-term growth and renewal.
