Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to inform you that registration for the seventh World Investment Forum, scheduled to take place 18-22 October 2021, is now open.

Please register here<https://unctad.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=3592d5dcafd1b9278dd78095f&id=5a22ebf2ca&e=7bf65355ea>. There is no fee to join, but registration is required.

As you know, the seventh Forum will focus on the theme of “Investing in sustainable recovery”, addressing key challenges and opportunities for the global investment-development community. Building forward better will not be possible without reigniting investment, both domestic and international, as an engine of growth. The Forum will specifically tackle the key issues arising from the new industrial revolution, the sustainability imperative, the realignment of economic governance, and the efforts for greater economic resilience. The deliberations will be informed by the World Investment Report 2020: International Production beyond the Pandemic<https://unctad.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=3592d5dcafd1b9278dd78095f&id=3111f3b96f&e=7bf65355ea> and the World Investment Report 2021: Investing in Sustainable Recovery<https://unctad.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=3592d5dcafd1b9278dd78095f&id=456d23ba4a&e=7bf65355ea>. The seventh Forum will respond to the call by the UN General Assembly for concrete recommendations on how to overcome the impacts of the pandemic on promoting investments for sustainable development. The Forum’s outcome will feed back into the 76th General Assembly’s deliberations for global policy actions.

The Forum is a multi-stakeholder gathering, designed to facilitate dialogue and action on investment-development challenges. It is recognized by Governments and business leaders as the pre-eminent global gathering for investment partnership and policymaking, providing a platform for interaction among the key stakeholders including state leaders and ministers, parliamentarians, CEOs of global companies, family businesses, heads of investment promotion agencies, investment treaty negotiators, impact investors and foundations, stock exchange executives, and pension and sovereign wealth funds managers, international standard setters, entrepreneurs, academia and representatives of civil society.

The seventh Forum will feature about 100 high-profile events, including the World Leaders Investment Summits, Ministerial Round Tables, the Investment Promotion Conference, the International Investment Agreements Conference, the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Global Dialogue, the Institutional Investors for Sustainable Development Roundtable, the Family Business and Sustainable Development Conference, minister-business executive dialogues, multi-stakeholder sessions on key themes, and prestigious UN award ceremonies, as well as the launching of a number of global initiatives for investment in sustainable development. The preliminary program for the seventh Forum can be found on the Forum’s website<https://unctad.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=3592d5dcafd1b9278dd78095f&id=40796e3f73&e=7bf65355ea>.

The key internationally renowned media (print, TV and social) will cover the various sessions of the Forum and disseminate its deliberations.
