The USDA-ARS Integrated Cropping Systems Research Unit is hiring a full-time, permanent technician in Brookings, South Dakota. The focus is identifying traits and management practices in small grains that improve plant-plant and plant-microbe interactions for broad sustainability goals. The work will be a mixture of field and lab work, including proximal sensing/high throughput phenotyping, plus soil and occasional DNA work. The ideal candidate will have good research experience as well as have or be willing to learn GIS software, basic computer programming, or running modern farming equipment.
