Subject: [NCD Listserv] FW: [EXTERNAL] FW: Supervisory Research Fish Biologist - Hammond Bay Biological Station

Your assistance is needed! The Hammond Bay Biological Station (HBBS) supervisor position has been advertised on USA Jobs. Please pass this along if you know of anyone that may be interested in the position or if your agency or institution has outlets for job postings. The HBBS supervisor position is uniquely split between supervision and research (50:50) offering opportunity for growth through the conduct of research. Here's the link: USGS-RES-21-11126917-DE-DP<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/603887700__;!!HXCxUKc!ktk-1RJE3QFSJg9JlzwFNR-2B-qLUKOU3MlPRWI2H8twTbyUhQVhn0g2fKSTeF6k6A$>

As you know, HBBS plays a critical role in the sea lamprey control program by conducting critical research and technical assistance on the current sea lamprey control program and cutting-edge research and development of new control and assessment tools. Critical partnerships with the USFWS, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, and the GLFC allow for efficient operation of the sea lamprey control program and research conducted by HBBS scientists. Additionally, HBBS scientists are experts in the behavior of Great Lakes fishes such as lake trout, whitefish, walleye, etc. and are at the center of operations for the Great Lakes Acoustic Telemetry Observation System (GLATOS). HBBS also has the capacity for many other avenues of research in its brand new (2019) wet lab facility and hosts researchers from Michigan State University full time and as visitors during the field season. Clearly, HBBS has a lot to offer scientifically. And it is staffed by an amazing group of researchers, biologists, and technicians. Being located on the shores of Lake Huron certainly is a bonus as well.
