Full-time 1-year lecturer position in Geological Sciences
The Department of Geological Sciences, Central Washington University (CWU), invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure track lecturer. The lecturer will teach an average of 15 credit hours per quarter (2-3 courses), including courses for majors (Rocks and Minerals, Mineralogy, and Structural Geology), introductory courses, and an elective in an area of interest. Opportunities to make use of the Murdock Research laboratory and advise undergraduate students in research are also available. A strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level, including working with students from traditionally underrepresented groups, is essential. An MS in Geological Sciences or closely related field is required; a PhD and some university-level teaching experience is preferred, particularly with inclusive and evidence-based teaching practices. The appointment runs from September 16, 2021, to June 15, 2022. Note: Screening begins June 24, 2021.
