Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning:

Assist the CIRES E&O Director, program managers and partners to implement strategy and conduct planning, including:

• Maintain an effective and supportive organizational structure by working across all CIRES E&O Program focus areas.
• Identify and implement process improvement strategies that are grounded in best educational and community engagement.
• Work with CIRES E&O evaluation team on tracking and evaluating program impact through web analytics and other impact measures.

Communication and Marketing

Work with the CIRES E&O Director, program managers and partners on communication and marketing of our programs, including:

• Develop external communication and marketing strategies for CIRES E&O and assist programs in developing their program-specific communication and marketing strategies.
• Promote and publicize CIRES E&O events, activities, educational or community engagement products through various communication platforms.
• Create media kits and marketing campaigns for CIRES E&O programs targeting the program’s core audience such as educators, school districts, partners, communities, scientists.
• Maintain the group’s social media presence on Twitter and Facebook.
• Maintain and develop web content for the CIRES E&O web portal in close collaboration with the CIRES IT team.
• Lead and support effective, proactive group communication within the CIRES E&O Program and with other CIRES administrative units.
• Proofread and edit all products including flyers, newsletters, web content, publications.

Operational Management

Provide logistical support for all CIRES E&O projects, programs and events, including:

• Ensure that all program managers receive the necessary support to successfully run their programs.
• Participate in HR administration such as completing and tracking paperwork and payments for consultants, partners, research study subjects, hiring of undergraduate students.
• Contribute to budget development for projects and salary allocation across the group.
• Maintain an intranet.
• Ensure organization and purchasing of group materials, office supplies and technology.
• Supervise the research support team.
