The 16th Vaasa Conference on International Business "International Business in the Challenging 2020s" 17-18 August 2021, University of Vaasa, Finland The conference consists of two plenary sessions and more than 20 focused sessions related to various fields of international business such as strategy, marketing, and human resource management. We especially welcome papers related to: 1) Sustainable strategies in International Business; 2) Use and impact of digitalization in IB; 3) Impact of Covid-19 on IB strategies and performance; and 4) Restructuring strategies in IB: export exits, foreign subsidiary divestments, relocating, and market re-entry strategies. The conference will be organized either in hybrid form or fully online depending on the development with the Covid-19. The form of realization will be confirmed latest in mid-June. Vaasa IB conference is the largest biannually organized conference in International Business field in the Nordic countries since late 1990s with more than 100 participants. INTERNATIONAL DOCTORAL TUTORIAL ON AUGUST 16, 2021 An international doctoral tutorial will be organized on 16 August, where 25-30 conference board members and other IB faculty members will discuss the doctoral students' proposals. The event will be at the same time the Annual tutorial of the Doctoral Program FIGSIB in Finland. KEY DATES Conference paper submission opens: 19 April, 2021 Submission deadline: 31 May, 2021 Acceptance letters deadline: 22 June, 2021 Doctoral tutorial submission opens: 10 May, 2021 Submission deadline: 31 May, 2021 Acceptance letters deadline: 8 June, 2021 IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFO Best conference and tutorial paper awards will be granted. There is also cooperation with some journals like European Journal of International Management and International Journal of Emerging Markets related to the publishing possibilities.
