Cork University Business School (CUBS) is pleased to announce the establishment of the AIB Chair of Sustainable Business, made possible by the generous support of Allied Irish Banks PLC, to lead the School’s efforts to prepare a next generation of leadership to galvanize business organizations to contribute towards mitigation of, and adaptation to, climate change.   

The AIB Chair in Sustainable Business will be a global thought leader of international repute who will bring prestige not only to the school, but to AIB the funding organisation that is already a recognised leader in sustainability in the financial services sector in Ireland.  Candidates with a proven track record of research and teaching that focuses on climate change and business, as evidenced by a body of high quality publications and a record of achievement in research funding in any of the disciplines covered by the School are invited to apply.   

An experienced leader, the Chair will have the capacity and experience to assemble and lead multi-disciplinary research and teaching teams. The Chair will mobilise and maximise the impact of the numerous faculty studying and teaching sustainable business across the School and will reach across the University to build new multi-disciplinary collaborations, particularly with academics in the Environmental Research Institute. The successful candidate will actively engage with  businesses and relevant networks to build on the University’s leadership position in education and training for sustainability in industry and enterprise.

Appointment may be made on the Professor Salary Scale: €120,274 - €154,507 (Scale B) Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
