Call for Papers – Women and the Environment
A special issue of Journal of Chinese Economic and Foreign Trade Studies
Guest Editors: Hoda Hassaballa, The British University in Egypt and Dimitrios Paparas, Harper Adams University
There is ongoing debate on the nature and direction of the relationship between women and the environment. The topic is interesting due to its broad scope as it has economic, sociological, and behavioural dimensions. Hence, the purpose of this special issue of is to provide a comprehensive view ofthe women-environment relationship through encouraging research papers that analyse this relationship from different angles. Papers shedding light on the observed impact of women on the environment, the future implications, and strategies to take the outmost of women-environment relationship will be encouraged. This will be done through considering theoretical and empirical analysis at the macro and micro levels with special reference to sustainable development.
We welcome submissions to this special issue. Topics covered include (but are not limited to):
• The impact of gender difference on the environment.• The women-environment relationship and its Impact on sustainable development.• Socioeconomic factors affecting women-environment relationships.• Environmental degradation and its effect on women.• Does gender bias affect women-environment relationshipsand climate change?• Government’s role in promoting women-environment relationships.• Role of women to promote rural and sustainable development.• Women, gender equality and energy.• The effect of education on women-environment relationships.• The future role of international organisations and international agreements in promoting women-environment relationships.• Strategies to take the outmost of women-environment relationships.• Does the women-environment relationship vary with countries’ level of development?
Deadline and Submission Details
The submission deadline for all papers is 31st August 2021
The publication date of this special issue is September 2022
