Research Associate (Postdoctoral)

Requirements: This postdoc will report to Dr. Gregg Sanford (Associate Research Scientist) and will be responsible for all dimensions of our 6-year Dairy Net Zero Initiative project, funded by the Foundation for Food and Agricultural Research (FFAR), focused on understanding opportunities to reduce the carbon footprint of dairy in the feed production dimension. They will be a senior member of the team directing the research and learning in a mentor-mentee model from project PIs (Sanford, Dr. Randy Jackson, and Dr. Matt Ruark) and senior academic staff (Dr. Maggie Phillips). In addition, as part of this multi-university public-private partnership they will have the opportunity to collaborate with the larger NZI project team that includes 5 Land Grant institutions, the Soil Health Institute, and the Dairy Research Institute.
 
Job Duties: Job duties will include oversight and management of the establishment and monitoring of agronomic field experiments at Arlington Ag Research Station and a private dairy. The postdoc will be responsible for a) coordinating field work, b) collecting, managing, analyzing, and interpreting soil-plant-gas data, composing reports and manuscripts, and presenting research at conferences and outreach events. Opportunities to mentor graduate and undergraduate students are available.
