The Department of Economics, Management and Statistics (DEMS) of the University of Milano-Bicocca invites applications for a full-time, three-year position of Assistant Professor in Management starting in the next academic year 2021/2022.
Profile
The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to conduct high quality research and teach in a multi-disciplinary environment. The new assistant professor will be part of the Department of Economics, Management and Statistics (DEMS), and is expected to contribute to undergraduate, master and PhD programs.
The ideal candidate will be ready to carry out research in relevant fields, such as strategic management, marketing, entrepreneurship, technology and innovation management, or international business. The candidate must possess a sound background and expertise in the analysis of data concerning firms’ competitive environment, strategy and organizational performance.
We are looking for candidates with a strong research record who can publish in top-tier journals, be effective teachers, and be willing to make other contributions to the department.
Teaching Load
The teaching load for the Assistant Professor in Management is two courses in strategic management or marketing.
About the Department
DEMS employs a group of 68 full-time faculty members, as well as 39 postdocs and PhD students. The department is committed to investing heavily in the ongoing development of its faculty and its Management Division. The research and teaching area of the Department includes theoretical and applied economics, marketing and business strategy.
The Management group of DEMS has published in top-tier general and field journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Research Policy, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journal of Economic Behavior&Organization, Health Policy, Industrial and Corporate Change, International Journal of Industrial Organization, International Journal of Central Banking, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, European Management Review, Management Research Review, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Technology Transfer, Small Business Economics. Other DEMS research groups have published in top-tier general and field journals such as American Economic Review, Economic Journal, Journal of Behavioral Decision Making, Annals of Statistics, Journal of Econometrics, European Economic Review and Energy Policy.
DEMS is one of the top-rated Italian departments in Economics, Management and Statistics and it is the recipient of a big competitive funding granted by the Italian Ministry of Universities, Education and Research (MIUR) under the Italian Departments of Excellence Program. Salary and contract
The salary is within a range established by Italian academic system regulations. A six-year tax exemption on 90 percent of the salary is available according to the Italian tax law for those candidates who have been residing outside Italy for 2 years or more.
