Presently, there is an opportunity for the right person to join our team as a Research Scientist at our Salem, Oregon location.

We are looking for someone who will serve as liaison between GO Seed and our current and potential research partners.  The successful candidate will work with management in identifying commercial opportunities and help develop and execute the strategies to turn ideas into reality. 

The Research Scientist will:

• conduct/coordinate research activities including but not limited to plant-microbial interactions, develop seed coatings utilizing microbials, carbon sequestration, and allelopathy. 
•  serve as a Principal Investigator in collaboration with our research partners and apply for grants on an ongoing basis. 
• oversee the collection and statistical analysis needed for Plant Variety Protection and Patent applications. 
• assist in facilitating the education of sales professionals and consumers regarding the nuances of the products that we sell.

Requirements of the Successful Candidate:

• Have obtained, at a minimum, a Master’s degree with academic training and/or the professional experience needed to successfully complete the desired research activities.

• Knowledge of plant species that are commonly utilized in cover crop, forage, and turf applications.

Details and Expectations:

Work with the research team to identify, develop and execute research activities.

• Work both independently and collaboratively to complete research projects in a timely manner.
• Communicate to others the results of the research activities in an easy-to-understand manner.

• Collaborate with the GO team to uncover insights and strategies to effectively bring to market and grow market share of existing and newly developed products.
• Work together with others within GO Seed as needed to help execute the overall mission and vision of the company.
• Identify and strategize to help develop new market opportunities.
• Consistently look for ways to set the bar higher in all aspects of the position

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: 65,000 – 90,000, depending on degree and experience.
