Subject: Job announcement, two student technicians, USGS-GLSC Ann Arbor
Hey Jim,

Hope you are doing well! I’m wondering if you can help circulate our job announcement, attached. We are seeking two student technicians (Student Services Contractors) to assist with data entry, mapping, and archival work for projects supporting coregonine restoration and conservation in the Great Lakes. The position will include reading, interpreting, and entering data from historic sources into a geospatial database, assistance with locating, scanning, and indexing archival materials relating to coregonine populations and habitats, and, when possible, use of ArcMap to georeference and translate data from historic maps into machine-readable formats. This position is funded for 12 months but could be extended for up to another 12 months based on performance, future funding, and eligibility. Pay is at least $17.85 per hour but includes no medical benefits. Start date is negotiable—would prefer as soon as May 24, 2021. More details included in the job announcement. Please let me know if you were able to circulate this, and/or if there is a job board I should be posting on.

Thanks, and all the best,

Cory
