Subject: [scuttlebutt:18695] NOAA Summer Internship Opportunity for Undergraduates
Hi Scuttlebutt!

I wanted to let you know about a great internship opportunity this upcoming summer for undergraduates. Our Kelp Recovery Program will be hosting an intern and we are excited to share the opportunity! Please see the information below and the attached flyer for details.

The NOAA Hollings Preparation Program (HPP) is offering an exciting summer opportunity for undergraduate students heading into their second year of college in 2021. This 4-6 week internship offers a $500 scholarship, a $4,000 stipend, and the opportunity to work with a program along the West Coast, including California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, and Alaska, to learn about NOAA-related science, research, policy, management and education. The program will prepare undergraduate freshmen to be competitive applicants for the full NOAA Hollings Scholarship in their sophomore year of college. Applicants are matched by region to a NOAA facility that is within commuting distance; however, the internship can be remote. NOAA aims to support a diverse and qualified pool of applicants, particularly from underrepresented groups.

Applicants should send a letter and resume to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. Applications are due by March 15, 2021.

Cheers,
Rietta
