The intern will assist in the planning, developing, creating, and disseminating a series of educational videos and webinars for teachers. You will produce deliverables to be used by the Long Island Sound Study national estuary program. This internship is designed with a flexible time frame to improve accessibility for the student. The internship will begin March 15, 2021, as a part-time position (14 hours/week) until May 14, 2021. At that time, you will have the flexibility to choose between converting the position into full-time at 40 hours/week through August 13, 2021, or continuing part-time through December 10, 2021. Work will consist of two phases: (1) During the first phase, you will partner with the Connecticut Sea Grant graduate Mentor Teacher program intern as well as Connecticut and New York Sea Grant staff to develop a webinar or video series for educators. (2) During the second phase, you will assist the Long Island Sound Study’s Communications Team in conducting the national estuary program’s science communication work. This position will be remote within the Bronx, Queens, or Long Island, New York. Some travel (approximately 15%) will be required within the Long Island area.
