Call for Book Chapters and Research Participation

National Competitiveness Research 2021

The Institute for Policy and Strategy on National Competitiveness (IPSNC, www.ipsncr.org) has been publishing the National Competitiveness Research (NCR) annually since 2001. The research introduces a theoretical background on national competitiveness and provides the indices for more than sixty countries and regions around the world. Based upon these findings, the report provides policy recommendations for governments to enhance national competitiveness and business implications for companies to formulate effective international strategies.

From 2021, the NCR will be published annually by World Scientific Publishing based in Singapore. For the upcoming NCR publication, we are looking for authors who can share their perspectives on important national agenda. We welcome any thought-provoking topics related to the competitiveness of a country of your choosing; in particular, we are keen on any new research on how the COVID-19 pandemic or technological disruptions such as digital transformation and artificial intelligence have reshaped the country you are focusing on.

INVITATION FOR RESEARCH PARTICIPATION

In addition, we would like to take this opportunity to invite scholars and institutions to join our research for NCR 2021 and its future programs. This invitation seeks any interested academics, business professionals, government officials, or any institutions to take part in conducting this research survey that measures national competitiveness. With the mass disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and increasing levels of protectionism, an accurate assessment of national competitiveness is now as important as ever for governments, institutions, and businesses to assist in formulating effective strategies. IPSNC aims to provide an in-depth assessment of competitiveness by adding East Asian experiences and wisdom to the theories and insights of Western academics as part of an effective approach to offer a more holistic understanding of competitiveness.

To collect accurate survey data, we are targeting the most knowledgeable pool of respondents across a diverse range of fields. We cordially request you to take part in completing the survey and we would also be grateful if you could distribute this survey questionnaire to your students and members of the associations you are affiliated with.

With participation in this project, our research partners will receive the following benefits.

1.    Immediate access to the recent rankings of national competitiveness (2015-2019), country profiles for sixty-two countries/regions in 2019-2020, and the list of criteria.

2.    A link to access the main results of the 2021 National Competitiveness Research specially prepared for the survey respondent after the Report is published.

3.    The extended 2021 competitiveness profile for selected countries/regions (as in the Survey).

We ask for those interested to follow the link below and complete the form, which will take about ten minutes to complete. Please submit your form by January 15, 2021.
