Dear AIB Member,

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic makes networking, communication, and strategic thinking more crucial than ever for investment promotion professionals, economic developers, and international business researchers.

You are cordially invited to participate in the free webinar:

COVID-19 and Foreign Firms’ Activities in NH: Resilience and Regionalization

Tuesday, January 19, 2021, 10–11:30 a.m. EST

OVERVIEW

The webinar is one of the first to consider foreign direct investment (FDI) and foreign firms’ actions at their localities. The event brings together economic development professionals, business leaders, and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences, insights, and findings on aspects of foreign direct investment (FDI), integrating general knowledge and global and regional trends into a broader understanding of the impacts of global investments on local economies.

While data and some discussions will focus on the state of New Hampshire, scholars and analysts from outside the state are invited to engage in a dialogue on FDI, trade development, and building business resilience. The event’s deliberations will also address big picture aspects such as new globalization risks, global and domestic FDI inflows and trade performance, and local implications. The session will examine the positive role that foreign investors can play in contributing to post-pandemic economic development and ways to encourage FDI.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Plymouth State University and the New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs (DBEA) welcome attendees to a virtual event that offers the opportunity to get up to date on the latest trends and developments in foreign direct investment and trade, globally and nationally, especially with a focus on statewide developments. The event will provide an interdisciplinary platform and cross-sector collaboration among industry, government, and academia to present and discuss the most recent data, trends, and concerns, as well as practical challenges and proposed solutions in the field of foreign direct investment.
