CALL FOR APPLICATIONS HAL AND JEAN GLASSEN SCHOLARS PROGRAM A PAID INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE May 17 – August 6, 2021 PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Hal and Jean Glassen Scholars Program<https://www.canr.msu.edu/academics/undergraduate/glassen_and_demmer_scholars/index> offers students exposure to real-world experience through working full-time as paid interns at state and federal agencies, non-governmental organizations or businesses that focus on complex natural resource issues in Michigan. The internship will be a paid 12-week, up to 40-hour-per-week position. In addition, a 400-level class in natural resources management and policy meets one night a week. The internship and course curriculum complement and advance the students’ learning through practical experience that influences citizens and communities across the state on such issues as the role of hunting, fishing and trapping in the future of conservation; parks and recreation; agriculture; the environment; natural resource management; business and the economic impacts of these issues in Michigan. CREDITS Accepted students will be enrolled in ANR 491 (Professional Internship in Ag and Natural Resources). We are still identifying the number of credits for the course.
