Subject: Ph.D.--Pheasant Ecology and Management in Nebraska

Good afternoon,

I hope all is well! Please feel free to distribute the attached PhD announcements. The research project focuses on identifying and prioritizing habitat for pheasant conservation and management in Nebraska. One position is focused on evaluating regional habitat thresholds and configurations necessary to support pheasant populations in Nebraska including evaluating the ‘scale of effect’ at which pheasant populations respond to spatially targeted land management. The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to evaluate pheasant population densities under varying levels of suitable habitat availability using a modeling and structured decision-making (SDM) framework. The other position will focus on developing a geospatial decision support tool to aid in prioritization of habitat for pheasant populations in an agriculturally dominated landscape. The latter position will be led by Dr. Yi Qi in the School of Natural Resources. The selected candidates will join a multi-disciplinary research team including multiple faculty in the School of Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Nebraska Game and Parks Commission biologists. Last Date to Apply is coming up fast—December 1st, 2020.

Thanks for sharing this email with interested candidates!

Best regards,
     Andy
