Over the past two centuries, the world’s socio-economic progression has gone through paradigmatic changes unfolding along four major developmental
stages. Higher education has been important to this process. The Fourth Industrial Revolution, unfolding at the current stage of these four paradigm shifts, encompasses and integrates a wide range of new technologies that are fusing the physical, digital,
and biological worlds and affecting all disciplines, economies, and industries. A critical part of these processes involves a synergetic integration of technological, socio-economic, and business developments and innovations based on increasingly effective
and time/cost-efficient information platforms coinciding with advances in transportation and logistics, transforming once cumbersome transnational machinations of trade into efficient and flexible global supply chains. This fosters an exceptionally dynamic
environment and exponential generation of business opportunities. They also bring about “creative destruction” that causes numerous organizations, whole industries, and broad economic sectors to vanish from the socio-economic and business landscape under competitive
forces. The disruption has critical implications for labor markets and, by extension, higher education. The accelerated pace of technological, socio-economic, and business innovations as well as ongoing fundamental changes in the real world call for an adequate,
if not expedited, progress in pedagogy. While modern universities have adopted in various degrees through information platforms such as Blackboard or Brightspace, video conferencing, and other technological innovations, they still commonly rely on pedagogical
ideas and concepts rooted in a thoroughly pre-modern era whose educational norms trace back to teaching methods developed in medieval times.
Business education at institutions of higher education is a sizeable and globally interdependent sector playing important strategic roles
and enjoying high socio-economic and national policy priorities. As part of the national and international socio-economic landscape, business education has been engaged in changes and strategic disruptions associated with the Fourth Industrial Revolution and
other forces and impacts. These dynamics have been amplified across the world by the advent of COVID-19. The proposed book aims to explore the following issues and developments in global business education: • Genesis of higher education and its contemporary
structure and profile (with the emphasis on business education) in major global regions and major selected leading nations and emerging economies. • Key international, regional, and national institutions involved in governance, support and control of business
education (universities and colleges/business schools) • Global trends, dynamics, drivers, and developmental imperatives shaping business education • National systems, trends, dynamics, drivers, and developmental imperatives in business education in select
countries (approximately ten countries to be covered) • Specialized educational/training business programs
The book will serve as a reference, source material for the administration of universities and colleges, academic courses, research projects,
industrial, economic, social, urban, innovation, legal, and other studies, as well as policy development.

2. Key international, regional, and national institutions involved in governance, support and control of business education (universities and colleges/business schools)
3. Global trends, dynamics, drivers, and developmental imperatives shaping business education. Role of business education
4. National systems, trends, dynamics, drivers, and developmental imperatives in business education: a. USA, b. Japan, c. Europe (the EU + one continental country and the UK), d. China/Greater China, e. Russia, f. Brazil, g. Turkey, h. Mexico, i. Other countries
5. Special topics and programs: police training; cybersecurity; artificial intelligence; online instruction, innovations in academic curriculum and pedagogy; Others
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before December 2, 2020, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by December 16, 2020 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by April 1, 2021, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Global Trends, Dynamics, and Imperatives for Strategic Development in Business Education in an Age of Disruption. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.
