The submission deadline for Competitive Papers and Panels for the February 2021 ANZIBA (Virtual) Conference is this coming Monday, 16 November.  So please get your papers in this week. 
For submissions to the Paper Development Workshop and the Doctoral Colloquium, you still have 5 weeks to go.

ANZIBA ANNUAL CONFERENCE – 17th to 19th FEBRUARY 2021 

International business in a virtual world: People, prospects and resilience

The Executive of the Australia and New Zealand International Business Academy (ANZIBA) would like to announce a call for papers (and reviewers) for our February 2021 conference - ‘International business in a virtual world: People, prospects and resilience’.  Papers and panels on any International Business (IB) research topic, but particularly those related to the conference title and theme, are welcome.  The conference will be preceded by a Doctoral Colloquium (DC) and a Paper Development Workshop (PDW). Paper and panel submissions will open Monday 14 September 2020 and close Monday 16 November 2020. Submissions for the Doctoral Colloquium and Paper Development Workshop will be accepted up to and including Monday, 14 December 2020.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, this conference will be held virtually.  All sessions will be conducted on the Zoom platform, and supplemental materials and instructions will be made available closer to the date through the ANZIBA website - www.anziba.org <http://www.anziba.org/>.  Presenters from anywhere in the world are welcome to submit, but they need to be aware that all sessions will be held between 10:30 AM and 4:00 PM Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).  All presentations and panels will be live on Zoom and will be followed immediately by a short question and answer period.

The conference is free, but attendees will need to formally register as a member of ANZIBA for 2021.  The nominal fee is A$10  (A$5 for PhD students) and can be paid via the ANZIBA website: https://www.anziba.org/conferences/registrations/ <https://www.anziba.org/conferences/registrations/>.

 

CONFERENCE HOST:

Given the virtual nature of the event, the conference will be formally hosted by the ANZIBA Executive, with the ANZIBA President – Professor Douglas Dow – as the Conference Chair.

 

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:

Our virtual Keynote Speaker for the conference will be Professor Dana Minbaeva <https://www.cbs.dk/en/research/departments-and-centres/department-of-strategy-and-innovation/staff/dmsi> of the Copenhagen Business School.  Professor Minbaeva is a leading scholar in the area of International HRM and is the recipient of several national and international awards for research achievements and knowledge dissemination, including the prestigious JIBS Decade Award in 2013.

COMPETITIVE PAPERS: 

All competitive paper submissions need to include:

·      A cover page including the title of the paper, the author name(s) and affiliation(s), the lead author email address, and a nominated track (number and name from the list above).  

·      The second page of the submission should include the title and an abstract not exceeding 200 words, followed by the body of the paper.

Papers should be double-spaced, referenced and formatted in conformity with Journal of International Business Studies manuscript submission guidelines. All submissions will be subject to a double-blind review process.  By default, all accepted papers will be published on-line by ANZIBA, but it will only be accessible by conference attendees.  If you do NOT want your paper published in this manner, please inform the Track Chair at the time of acceptance.

  

PANEL PROPOSALS: 

Panel proposals must be submitted by the panel chair and include:

1.     A title page that includes the names and contact information for all participants and identifies their roles.

An abstract, between 150-200 words, that summarizes the panel
An overview statement of the theme of the panel.
A 1 to 3-page description of the session format (e.g. paper presentations, round table, professional development workshop), with paper synopses where appropriate.
Emails from each participant, indicating s/he will participate if the panel is accepted.
Panel proposals should be no more than 3,000 words inclusive of all materials.
Each proposal must state, on its front page at the top right, the requested Track (number and title) and Panel Session Format.
Submissions must be written with double-spaced text and a font size of 11 points or larger.
Panel proposals will be assessed by the Track Co-chairs.

 

REVIEWING:

It is a condition of having a competitive paper or panel proposal considered for this conference that the lead author or panel organizer must review two other submissions.  These will be assigned by the Track Chairs. 

However, if competitive paper authors or panel members are willing to review additional papers, or if Doctoral Colloquium authors, PDW authors, and non-submitting members of our academic community are willing to review any papers, please email the conference chair – [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> directly.
