Contract: Initial one year, upon satisfactory progress and availability of funding contract can be extended
Area: Stored products insect pest management
A 12-month (Postdoctoral) Research Associate is available working with Dr. Rizana Mahroof in the Dept. of Biological and Physical Sciences at South Carolina State University. This position is supported by a grant from 1890 Allans-Evans Program of the USDA-NIFA.
The successful candidate will join stored products entomology research team studying ways to manage key stored product insects using non-chemical tactics including ozone and semiochemical based methods.
Qualifications: Interested individuals must have a PhD in entomology, ecology or related field, ability to work independently, experience with stored products pest management; written and oral communication; and managing lab and field-based applied entomology research projects. Previous experience with stored products systems is desired. Competent in statistical analysis is expected.
