Important Happenings!

Fill The Bus Fundraiser

Accepting Donations Until Sept 20, 2020

While not all districts will use buses this fall, they could still use a busload of supplies. Fill The Bus assists in providing local schools with essential supplies. The Hospitality Association will be participating in this fundraiser. We will be accepting donations until September 20, 2020. Any donation helps! $1 can buy a pack of markers.

Hospitality Asset Managers Association (HAMA)

Case Competition

The Hospitality Asset Managers Association is sponsoring an undergraduate student case competition for Michigan State University along with five other institutions to attend the spring 2021 HAMA conference. Each University will select one team entry to submit to the HAMA judges. The HAMA judges will select one winning entry from among the six schools and invite the winners for an all-expense paid trip to the conference. The top team from the remaining schools will be invited to the Spring HAMA conference with room and meals paid by HAMA. The top three submissions as scored by the HAMA judges will have an opportunity to present at the spring 2021 HAMA meeting (location TBD). This is a prestigious conference and students will have the opportunity to network with potential employers. For more information contact [log in to unmask]

Destination Auction

Four Director Positions Open

Destination Auction is the premiere fundraising event for The School of Hospitality Business. We raise money through a live and silent auction event in which the proceeds go back to The School of Hospitality Business Alumni Association and the students of The School to help with funding of clubs, educational conferences and other educational resources.  We also donate a portion of Destination Auction’s proceeds to additional charities such as The Junior League of Lansing, and the Capital Area Humane Society. Destination Auction is searching for individuals looking to get involved as a director! The following positions are still available: Director of Live Auction, Director of Silent Auction, Director of Solicitations, and Director of Technology. Eta Sigma Delta

Executive Board Positions Open

Eta Sigma Delta (ESD) is the national honor society for Hospitality Business majors. Only top academic scholars in The School are eligible for membership. Eta Sigma Delta encompasses over 60 chapters around the country with the intent to lead hospitality and tourism educators and professionals to the highest levels of professionalism and achievement.

All interested students are welcomed to learn more at their first meeting!
