In addition two stand-alone video case collections –Brands Whisper’g® and MNC Whispering– will be introduced for using them as part of interactive synchronous online teaching in IB. By attending this webinar, participants will gain a further understanding on interactive synchronous online teaching methods, with special emphasis on:

[log in to unmask]">China Belt and Road Initiative

Dr. Dossani will discuss the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), an initiative for transcontinental infrastructure construction conceptualized in China and under implementation in over 70 countries. The BRI primarily promotes the building of physical infrastructure that will connect to partner countries globally.

Despite its needs-based approach, the BRI has been widely criticized for creating undesirable effects, such as increasing partner countries’ economic dependence on China through debt-trap lending. In this presentation, Rafiq will identify and explain what is different about the BRI, the evidence that is available on the impacts of the BRI, and the implications for policymakers.

Takeaways from this webinar include:

·     Understanding the economic and geopolitical implications of the BRI, which is now the world’s largest development finance initiative.

·     Understanding the contributions of the BRI and what makes it worthy of scholarly research.

·     Understanding the critiques and controversies surrounding the BRI and the evidence to address the concerns.

This presentation will be based on Dr. Dossani’s recently published working paper which is available for download here.
