General Position Description:  The employee will serve as a Biological Science Technician at the Arcata Fish and Wildlife Office, located in Arcata, CA. Position will work under the supervision of Project Biologist and designated crew lead to collect biological data for complex investigations of juvenile salmon abundance, health and survival. Applies knowledge of the biology, ecology and habitat requirements of aquatic species native to streams and large rivers in the Pacific Northwest, including Pacific salmon and steelhead. Utilizes a variety of sampling gear such as seines, rotary screw traps, tablet PC's, GPS receivers and antennas, radio and acoustic telemetry equipment, etc. Collects, stores, organizes, and transfers raw data sheets to digital files, inputs data into computer databases, and aids in producing weekly project updates.
