Seminar 2: Population Effects, Trade, and the Role of Technology Post COVID-19
Date: 20 May 2020 at 9:00 GMT (10:00 am London time)

As part of a new virtual Seminar series on ‘The Economics of COVID-19’, the Economics Division of the Commonwealth Secretariat in London is holding a seminar on ‘Population Effects, Trade, and the Role of Technology PostCOVID-19’.

High-level speakers from across the Commonwealth will explore issues of population and poverty, as well as the promise of technology in two sessions in the seminar.

Session 1
During the session, we will discuss how population size has affected the implementation of lockdown and social distancing measures. Panellists will draw from country experiences and provide relevant policy recommendations and advice.  

Session 2
Session 2 will focus on effects of COVID-19 on trade, in particular the effects on global value chains. In this session, panellists will also discuss the role in which technology has played during the pandemic. All seminars are open to colleagues who are interested in exploring ways in which we can do more to support each other.
